wikipedia

I think Wikipedia is not a site that should be used for research or if someone is looking for valid information. If you can change the material several times, not even knowing who really supplied the information makes the encyclopedia not such a good form for studies, research and etc. In English 102, I had to research several things and the first thing that came out of my professors mouth was, DO NOT USE Wikipedia! I think the site could never become a useful site for information being that its from the stand point of different people and their gonna speak on how whatever the topic relates to them. In the clipping I listened to on NPR the interviewer had remarks on how a person can change the source information even though you can track what computer it does not tell the persons name just the computer data base information.

May blog

When you first read this blog it said to watch the youtube clipping which i found very insteresting. I know it has been plenty of people that has had a bad experience with coustomer service, wheather its on the phone, in a store, a reaustaurt where it is related to how teachers service students. In most schools there is always so many teacher there just to get a check. There are also so many that don't really care if the students learn are not, the teacher feels and tends to say they have a degree and you are tring to get where I am. I always think about those types of teachers. I would hate to provide such carelessness to people that why especially being one who should try to motivate one to learn. When it comes down to coutstomer service in this aspect it means providing the best possiblel way to benefit each other I get the enjoyment out of helping someone become a better person and the other person becomes one who can may one day help someone the same way and customer service is a trade.

I never looked at it in this way untill now and when I first looked at the clipping I was expecting something totally different. This blog was a blog that turns the lightbulb on in ones head to say how do I treat people in the coustomer service aspect, in a teacher aspect.

Podcast

The first podcast I listened to was lesson from Life: The last lecture of rand Pausch. I think the podcast informed people on all of the inspirational facts about Randy. The group was very well with give the break down of the point of what he was encouraging people to bring out the best with the good and the bad of any situation.

I feel this particular group could have done a better job on letting the podcast flow more like a conversation than just reading off of a piece of paper like one girl sound at the beignging of the podcast. I loved the fact that through the podcast they encouraged people to view the last lecture on YouTube and gave the information need to view the site.

This was the first time I have ever heard of podcasting and it was very enjoyable to her the view points on Randy Pausch from other students, who have already completed the coarse. It is really amazing to her such wonderful things from people he inspired and motivated and how the class podcast want to share it with people.

The second podcast I listen to was Useful Web Sites for Elementary Teachers. Throughout this podcast they gave a lot of information on different sites itself, how to use the site and what is on each site. I think they gave really good detailed site information. The access for learning information with foreign languages and how to teach with lesson plans. I didn't see anything that needed to be improved with the podcast, it flowed like a conversation. The group all new their information and supplied it very well. It is so amazing how you can search and find more information than need as one of the group members stated in the podcast. The members also supplied the sites on their class blog which is very influential to see because sometimes sites are hard to track with the slightest mistakes. The teacher brought out how the podcast was maintained like a conversation more so than just words read verbatim off a sheet of paper. I don't know about all of the podcast but this was a very good one, which has made me excited about podcasting itself which I hope we get a chance to do also.

Finch Best blogs of september

The blog of September of karl Fisch , is stating that people dealing and involved with education should be computer literate. I must say myself I agree, educators should motivate every student to continue and further their education any way possible. Education is an ongoing process and there is always some newer information that can be learned. I feel you can never stop learning so for a teacher to be computer illiterate is contradicting to students that should learn as much new and old information as possible. Finch talks about technology and how its will be new information add to old forever. He also states the fact that if its a problem to become computer literate he highly recommends to get assists to learn the skill and fast. Finch points out that principles and coworkers should already have a hold of the people lacking the information needed to provide the best possible learning environment to students. I feel that in so many ways education should be just like nursing, when new information comes out the doctors and nurses all have to attend classes to learn the new information. In education people attend workshops and still relied on old methods and the older information so I think this is one thing that can be improved in schools

I found his lecture very inspirational, which makes you appreciate life. In fact he spoke wisdom and knowledge of real life dreams and how to over come the obstacle. Randy's outlook on life itself is a positive aspect which just listening to such positive words can lift you up in the hardest time.

Although he had cancer, he didn't let that take him under. It motivated him to strive to fight for his life as he continued his accomplishments of motivating others all over. He could have had a pity on himself and gave up on everything but he didn't, it was a most that he fulfill his dreams before it was his time to go.

I like the fact that he is one who thinks out side the box. I feel you have to have understanding before you can help someone. He understood that to learn something hard you should make it appear fun and easy and one can graps the concept better. This is one technique I would like to use in my teaching method.

He also make me think about how can you reach out to people and inspire and motivate them to the point where one can keep thriving and be an over achiever because this is one of my life goal. I can remember all the people who has inspired me and there will never be a point where I would have reached my self actualization because there is never a point in life where you can't get better are have better so even when someone has the best there is all ways better and thats why I'll always try to achieve and do better.

inernational school blogs

OGA international school officially founded in 1996, Ortiz Global Academy (OGA) was started by a group of people who recognized the need for a school to fulfill the growing demands of a more effective English education in Japan. In this blog I found it very exciting to see that this perticular blog showes how she educates the kindergaren children, and how they had fun learning and working together. The class spent four fun filled days leaning about ther Five Sense. They made slime and unusual sensory bottles. They matched different scents, and tasting party. They played in a sensory pool and finger painted with jell-o and cream.
The berlin Elementary school uses the blog to show the positive aspects of the school. The school has a Golden open day to welcome new visitor to the school, durning this activity the students including the new student entertain and take a tour around the school

student and teacher blogs

In many places people use a blog basically as an online journal. It can be used to create discussions among members of a class, share questions, post projects, and pictures. The possibilities for using blogging in education are endless.
Schoolblogs.net Network was created by an elementary teacher who saw the power of the blog when using this tool in class during literature circle discussions. This is a great method to keep each individual student attentive. Instead of students who did not do their reading assignments and came unprepared for circle, we found that the students were prepared for their literature circle. Also, the reluctant reader found blogging a motivating factor to read. The student who may be too timid to “speak up” during regular group times, found blogging as an outlet to share their opinions or thoughts of students who are non participants in classroom discussion time.
There are many free blogging tools on the Internet but many will easily link to inappropriate sites not suitable for children. Its a strive to make the blogs both teacher and student friendly to help with discussions around the world. www.schoolblogs.net/
As mentioned in our presentation, the rate at which new blogs are being created each day is estimated to be 175,000. Some of those blogs are automatically generated and are essentially spam right from the start. And of course not all of those blogs that are created by even the well-intentioned will be maintained over the long-term. For the source of this information and to find other interesting facts and charts about blogs all throughout the virtual realm, check out what David Sifry, CEO and founder of Technorati has to say in his State of the Blogosphere, August 2006.

Did you know????

In this particular presentation I found out information that was astonishing to the point where it makes you actually want to research varies U.S holds on advancing in education and technology. The fact, one in four workers have worked with their current employer for less than a year is a common and I feel one of the most known facts throughout the presentation. I think with knowing the problem someone should have a solution to fix them. Speaking on fixing problems a person by the age of 34 having over 10 to 12 different jobs is a big problem, and should be resolved.

I was very amazed to the questions of the richest country in the world, largest military, center of world business and fiance, strongest education system, and the highest standard of living, the first thing I would think about the varies of question is the United States but wrong it was Britain. When do we sit down to talk a look at the different information displayed in this presentation I think this is a very important video that should be displayed everywhere that provides news to the public like the radio, news, newspapers, and etc.

Myspace is a well known Internet web page that increased rapidly throughout the coarse of a few years. I feel that myspace was a great way to get everyone to advance in the skills on computers. which in the presentation it should that myspace has billions of users throughout the world.

I loved at the end of this presentation the point was to show the improvement you could make by making sure you or your child makes the best out of what you can learn. In other would what are you doing to improve the varies of situations presented in the video because there has been a shift change with the changing of the centuries
